I'm a SCRAPPER and stamper!!

It is getting so close to Halloween and we can hardly wait around here. Tonight we carved our pumpkins and our daughter is so excited. She woke my husband up this morning, complete with pumpkin pail in hand, and asked if it was time to go Trick or Treating yet. She is 3 and a half and this is the first year she "gets it." Our son is not quite 10 months yet and he will be going along for the ride dressed as a lobster...how mean are we?? LOL

So onto the weekly question. Do I scrap or stamp? Well, I am mainly a scrapper but have done more stamping this year. On occasion I will include some stamping on my layouts, but I usually reserve the stamping for cards. I, like all the other gals on here, am VERY behind in my scrapping. I was doing so well in staying caught up on my daughter's stuff, but when number 2 came along that all went out the window. I hope to find more time to scrap for myself soon.

In honor of the upcoming holiday, I included a couple of my past Halloween layouts. As you can tell from the dates they are a couple years old.

I hope you all have a safe and Happy Halloween!!!

This is my daughters first Halloween costume. Notice I put the poor thing on her belly so I could get a picture of the cute bumblebee wings....only a scrapper LOL

And her second Halloween as a chicken :)

Do you scrap or stamp?

So to answer this weeks question I would have to say I scrap. While I do dabble in stamping every now and then. I think my cards are mostly scrapping...I know scrapping usually applies to scrap booking though. I do very little of my own scrap booking...not because I don't want to, but because I don't know where to start.

A few years ago I became the official 'keeper of all family photos'. My mother brought over six or seven huge crates full of family photos just piled high in old worn albums. It took me almost the entire 9 months of my pregnancy to sort through them and try to separate duplicates and put them in any sort of order. It was great to have all these photos of my great-grandmother, my grandmother, all the cousin...even pets from the 50's....

So when I say I don't know where to start I guess I mean that to start scrapping all those photos (and I am the kind of person who, once started would have to use ALL of them) seems like an unending job...maybe when Sampson starts school...

I do plan on doing some pre-made scrapbook pages for others though! I am working on one right now to unveil...soon I hope.

I forget who it was the other day who said they always started out with a clean workspace...and end up with a mess...well me too!

Here is what I start with:

and here is how it ends:

...no matter how tidy I try to be!!!

It is still blazing hot here in San Diego. I am melting away. I have to go to Joanns to get craft supplies, but the very idea of climbing into the hot car makes me sweat. We may not have air conditioning, but it's still cooler inside!

Scrap or Stamp....

good morning everyone!
okay so i had a very unsuccessful and frustrating night trying to login and post my very first entry . so here i am the next morning trying desparately to redeem my name. this is my very first time posting and i'm kind of at awe about all the talent these girls possess! so i'm going to make like a cameleon and try and fit in.
so the question of the week is, " are you a scrapper or stamper"? i guess that i'd have to say that i'm a, "scramper." i like to incorporate stamps in my personal layouts and not so much on my layouts for ebay. these days i've been primary doing just pages for ebay and have put my personal scrapping pages on the back burner. so with that said here are a few photos of some layouts i did last year( because i'm on top of things that way...lol)

this lo just has touches of stamping on the word, "splendor."
this one is really old, just used the swirly stamps for the rockets blast...
this is a lo that i did of my three kids last year. i did a lot of exacto kniving ( i'm talking carpol tunnel exacto kniving...lol). that use to be my big thing along with using liquid glass.
i just love basic grey! and lastly, here is a lo of my daughter "kalani". i didn't stamp on this one, but i wanted to share it. lol

so that's my take on scrapping and stamping. i hope everyone is having an awesome tuesday! many blessings~siggie

I love to scrap!

I LOVE TO SCRAP!
I could do this all day every day. There was a time that I did that too! Now life is getting a little busy and I find less and less time to scrap, but when I get the time, I love to sit and create. I started scrapping when my first son was born over 6 years ago and have become a complete addict. If there is a new tool I have to have it. If a new paper line is released, I have to go get it, especially Scenic Route. New stickers by Bo Bunny, they are mine! I used to go out and get the newest Nikes, now I go and get the newest Doodlebug! And what does all this spending and creating get me......some fantastic looking memories!
Here are some pages of my children that I have scrapped.

This is my baby girl Tyler who will be two in December.
And here my Joshie who will be 5 in a couple of weeks.

And this is my Jake who is now at the ripe old age of 6.

Hello from San Diego

Its my first blog here at Scrap-a-latte. I spent all day yesterday working on a Hanukkah  card and finally finished it a few hours after Sampson went to bed. I have never done one before and I hope I got everything correct. I usually do Christmas cards but I thought it might be nice to have some other holiday cards! The idea for the little boy playing with a dreidel came from Sumi, one of my bidders. I took pictures last night and will be posting it later today.

Here in San Diego it has been BLAZING hot this whole week. We don't have an air conditioner so its just miserable here. Sampson doesn't seem to mind the heat though. Here is a peek into my life...

Took Sampson in for his very first baby portraits at 5 months. I would have done sooner ones but I have been so busy! He is so big for his age, already wearing 18-24 months....hes in the 99%. Its crazy to think about how fast he is growing. He loves to watch me make cards. He is so observant of everything I do. He follows my hands and watches every little thing I do. Someday I will help him make his own little cards.

It's snowing!

Ugh - it is actually snowing here in Central New York. So what that it's mixed in with the rain, and it's not sticking, and it will be 50 degrees here tomorrow. Right now, I see snow flakes, and and I am not ready for them. Hello, my name is Sarah, and I hate winter !

Thanks for stopping by the blog today ! Since your here, why don't you get yourself a nice hot cup of coffee (or whatever you like) and allow me to introduce myself. My name is Sarah, and my ebay user id is Sarahsdesigns78. I am a stay at home mom to an amazing little boy who is truly the kindest and most well behaved child I have ever met. He is the light of my life, and the center of my universe. I am also the wife of a union Ironworker. Yup, my husband is the guy who walks around on a steel beam that is 6 inches wide and hundreds of feet in the air. Scares the crap out of me but he is a natural at it. We live in Upstate New York where the whether sucks for a good 6 months out of the year but, I must admit, this fall the trees are more beautiful than I have seen in a long time.
I have been scrapping for almost ten years now. I began shortly after my son was born, and over the years my style has changed, my talent has improved, and my supplies have multiplied. A lot. I really love scrapbooking, because I have found that I can incorporate it into so many other things. I love to alter things, and being able to make decor items to suit my taste and style is a blast. I also love to draw, and I often do on my scrapbook pages. My work area is so diversified - I can sit down and find supplies for pretty much anything that I am in the mood to work on. Here is a look at my space. It's nothing fancy, and it is pretty small, but it is so me. Artistic and scattered - lol!

I spend a lot of time here, mostly working, but sometimes just to read or listen to music. I am slowly finding containers for my supplies that speak to me far more than boxes. Like this basket

and the tin containers you can see here

They may look unorganized, and they are, but I just love digging through and finding things I had forgotten about. Some of my favorite things, however, just stay out in the open on my desk. Like my pencils and markers.
I paid too much for these babies to stow them away, and besides, if they are right in front of me I am more likely to be inspired.

So that's my space, and it is where I create all of the items I sell on ebay. I really hope you enjoyed getting a peek into my life, and I hope you come back for more! Until next time, take care and stay warm!

TUESDAY'S CUPPA JOE...

I just love the slang words for coffee so expect to see them whenever I post but "cuppa joe" is definitely the best. It's blogger Ronda checking in but only by the skin of my teeth! My computer wifi is having problems connecting to the internet and I was sent at least 8-10 viruses yesterday. Thankfully, I have a good security suite so none infected my computer. That was a first in over 20 years of owning a computer.

Continuing our string of good luck in this household the heater broke yesterday and at 2 a.m. I was on the phone to my son the HVAC expert because of a gas smell in our house and a freezing 52 degrees. At 2 a.m. he diagnosed it correctly and was here at 9 a.m. to fix it...it wasn't good sleeping last night with no heat & layers of clothing, slippers, & blankets but a warm pup by my shoulder helped immensely.

Good fortune continues today with cool temps and a clear forecast for the next 3 weeks! However, it is cloudy & raining despite the weather forecast and all on a partially painted house and a lone house painter. Oh my! I guess in the scheme of things these are all easy to tolerate at least we are healthy and I have a room full of scrapbooking supplies to keep me busy for the rest of my life. I constantly survey the growing piles of paper and wonder if I stopped buying today would I ever use it all? I take comfort in not having to spend $$ on supplies as the holidays approach so there is a silver lining to some clouds!

Enough of my woes...if you've stuck with us and our numbers show you have...post a comment here on the blog AND send me a note requesting a pattern through one of my eBay listings and I'll email you a free scarecrow paper piecing pattern I created...my ebay i.d. is "button*box" but you can click on "Ronda" on the left margin here to go to my auctions then just click on "CONTACT ME" at the bottom of any listing and ask for a pattern...but don't forget to leave us a note here on the blog too!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great week!!

It's Monday Again?!?

I blinked and the weekend was over. Anyone else feel that way? I love Fridays and BOOM! it's Monday again. On Mondays I am usually bent over the scanner getting all my auctions ready to go. Trying to keep the kids occupied with new movies so I can get everything listed. Not today though. Today I worked on my son's birthday invitations. I wish I had something finished to show you, but that will have to wait. He is going to be 5 next month and we decided to get a magician. He is SOOO excited. Of course, being a scrapbooker, I couldn't just buy his invitations, so I spent all afternoon typing and printing and cutting and gluing. Now I just need to make the card base and I will be set. I am not much of a card maker, but truly admire those who are. I love looking at what people can create in such a small space. I buy the stamps and markers and little things, but I just can't seem to make them. My efforts usually turn into a scrapbook layout! So be sure to watch for my next posting where I will show you the invitation I created!

Since I have nothing to list on ebay today, I wanted to offer my first freebie. I will send a free paper piecing goodie bag to the first comment on this blog! We haven't had comments last week, so make yourself the first one and I will send you your free goodies! Are you excited?!!? Worried about what to comment on...just wish us luck on our new adventure and the goodies are yours! Then be sure to email me and send your address. scrapn3kids@aol.com

Hope you're having a GREAT weekend!!

With the Fall weather finally here, I am loving the sunny afternoons. I wasn't so looking forward to turning the furnace on, but with 2 little ones we had to.

I have been trying so hard to get some scrapping done to have new things to post, but life has gotten the best of me. I did manage to "play" last night and got some inspiration from another great blog site. Here's what I came up with:

Check out those gorgeous Stickles!!!

Be sure to keep checking out the SALDC auctions on eBay. I'm not quite sure yet what I plan on creating with this gorgeous dress, but I know I'll come up with something. In fact, I had so much fun playing with it that I hope to create LOTS more!!!

Happy Wednesday!

Hi Ya'll and welcome to the Scrap-a-Latte Design Cafe Blog! Thanks so much for dropping by today to see what's going on with the gals of SALDC.

Let me introduce myself...My name is Tonya and I am also known as the_papered_pooch on ebay. I've been scrapbooking for a long long time. I still have my Senior High scrapbook from 1988! My specialty now is making pet themed paper piecings and scrapbook layouts. My son had been my inspiration for my scrapbooking for years but now that he is almost grown (he is nearly 16) I draw my inspiration from my two little fur-babies that we adopted from a local Pet Rescue organization. My motto is "Don't shop, Adopt!!"

I am located in beautiful North Central Florida. I have to admit that I am beyond ready for some cool, fall weather! This week we decided to close the pool for the season. Probably in hopes that it would inspire mother nature to send some of that cool air down our way. Instead, the cool water "inspired" my lab mix (Honee) to cool off! I think she thought she would "soak up" some of the excess pool water that had collected in the back yard. The real trick here was getting her to stay while I retrieved my camera and to keep my yorkie mix, Harley, from joining her. Now doesn't she look like a true water dog??

I want to thank you all again for stopping by today. Please come back often and keep in touch with the gals of SALDC!

Good Morning paper crafters!!

Wow, to go behind Ronda is a tough act to follow. Hi. my name is Holly and I am the only original remaining old PBSTR member. I have seen so much of this group, but think we finally got it figured out. The amazing SALDC girls have sooo much talent.

About me, you can find my work on Ebay under the name tville23682. I have been paper crafting for almost 10 years. I started when I took on the project of making my parents a 15th wedding anniversary scrapbook. NEVER, take this on as your 1st challenge LOL. Of course they both loved it and I even got some tears, but it was quite the undertaking. Back then I LOVED stickers and heart shaped photos. My style has definitely evolved over the years. I didn't really get back into scrapping until almost 5 years ago when my husband and I got married. Then we had 2 kids.....now I am WAY behind. Here are a couple of my favorite recent photos of my little ones. We took them to the cider mill the other day and they just adored it.

Now for the FUN stuff!! The FIRST bidder this week to bid on my chipboard album will receive a set of handmade cards. All of the cards are made from the same gorgeous papers as the album and come complete with matching envelopes. Now here's the catch. You have to have read this blog and let me know you read it in order to receive them. Let's see who's reading LOL.

Good Luck everyone!!!

Morning Cuppa Joe!

Greetings fellow scrappers and thanks for checking in on the SALDC Girls today! Your blogger today is Ronda, who can be found at eBay with id. "button*box". Please be sure to check my listings often, I'll be listing new and exciting items several times this week. Also, you'll want to be sure to look in on my About Me page where I'll be giving away a special freebie for this week's (10/12-19) high bidder!

This holiday weekend was a cheery one on the East Coast so I had the chance to test my newly repaired Canon camera. My little bichon, Mimi, was an unwilling model for the outdoor shots! Below is the little cutie...was I ever surprised to see a hibiscus tree in full bloom in the background behind Mimi?! Talk about global warming...I'm in Delaware and we're usually wearing jackets by this time of year!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Here's a little tidbit about me that not many people know; I designed and prototyped the handbag, flowers, trunk, & vase for the #1 selling vinyl doll of all time...Princess Diana by Franklin Mint. It was historic and with mixed emotions since the design group I was part of had been working on a doll of the Princess when she passed away. That was quite a few years back and these days I enjoy less stressful endeavors like scrapping for all of you.
Please enjoy and write me sometime!

WELCOME!

So, I bet you are wondering what the heck has been going on. Well, here's the story in a nutshell. PBSTR is one of the original scrapbooking design teams on ebay. Since the creation of PBSTR, there is only one active member still involved. I am not her!! We have been through 3 moderators and numerous members and have decided PBSTR is not what was started those few years back. (( I would tell you how long ago PBSTR was formed, but I don't even know! Our best guess is about 3ish years.))

These past few months, the members of PBSTR have been chatting about how to change things around to reflect the new group we have become...and here we are. We voted on a scrumptious new name...Scrap-A-Latte Design Team(SALDC for your ebay searches!) We have started this new and exciting blog that will have news, updates, games and give-aways(so make sure to check back often!) And we are committed to being these best sellers to buy from!
